Our worm-gear reducers and worm-gear motor reducers are designed for universal applications. Each of the four variations (N-A-V) shares a consistent midbody. To configure these versions (N-A-V), simply remove the screws that secure the covers with feet to the gearbox and rotate the covers to the desired orientation.
To implement this in the (B-BC or P) variation, the covers with two feet need to be exchanged for two different covers: one intended solely for closure, and the other equipped with the appropriate flange (either a standard B or a short BC and P configuration).
Structural Features
The worm-gear reducer consists of three primary components: housing, worm gear, and wheel.
Constructed from GG-25 cast iron, these housings are designed for all types of gear reducers, ensuring efficient performance even under stress, vibrations, or other unavoidable setbacks during assembly.
The worm gear is made from hardened and quench-hardened steel, with ground teeth sides, and the crowns are manufactured from centricast bronze (DIN GZ-CuSn 12 Ni2) melted onto steel. The high-quality mechanical work of these components results in excellent performance and low noise levels.
The output shaft is hollow, but it is also possible to modify it for a solid shaft.
With oil seals made of NITRILE BUTADIENE per DIN 3760 standards, high-quality bearings, a two-component EPOXY-impregnated finish, and a grey SINGLE LAYER ENAMEL finish (RAL 7672), this gear reducer remains highly competitive in the market.
Size 63
In the size 62 of the MF series, worm-gear reducers, the output hollow shaft of diameter 30 has been included, that substitutes to the output hollow shaft with diameter 25, from size 62. This variant has like reference size 63 and is born like answer to the request of our costumers since, upon mounting greater bearings in the output, bears greater axial loads that its analogous one in the MF-62 series. The rest of technical characteristic are identical to the its analogous in the size 62.
Assembly Position
To effectively set up a gear reducer and ensure optimal performance, it is important to consider the following points:
Backdriving
It is important to pay close attention to this factor when the output shaft of the gear reducer is driven rather than acting as the driver. A significant aspect of this worm-gear reducer is its incapacity to be axle-driven from the output shaft (irreversibility). Complete irreversibility conditions are challenging to achieve due to external elements such as vibrations. For applications that necessitate total irreversibility, it is advisable to implement external brakes with enough strength to avoid slipping.
The conditions that can lead to irreversibility include:
• Efficiency < 0.55 (see the technical features table).
Maintenance
This variety of gear reducer is designed with a permanent lubrication system, allowing it to function without requiring any maintenance.
Lubrication
This type of gear reducer is characterized by its constant lubrication, provided as standard with high-quality refined oil. This oil is enriched with anti-rust and anti-wear substances, including Fe, Cu, and alloy protectors, and complies with quality standards such as CLP DIN 51517-3, FGZ level 12, AP GL-4, US 224, and AGMA 250-04. Therefore, maintenance is unnecessary.
